Sharing is caring!

This strawberry raspberry fruit salad with passion fruit dressing is so tasty, and the perfect side dish for all of those “red” holidays!

I must confess that a good fruit salad is my go-to side dish for any function. I just love how a simple dressing helps you satisfy your sweet tooth in a fun way!

This salad tastes great at any time of year, although it’s best in the spring when those berries are in season!

Let’s talk about making this fresh fruit salad!

Strawberry Raspberry Fruit Salad with Passion Fruit Dressing

The first thing you’ll do is make your dressing. I tend to go with a classic honey-lime dressing for fruit salads, but I wanted to try something a little different this time with a passion fruit dressing. I still use some lime juice and lime zest and honey, but I love the addition of passion fruit. It really helps amplify the fresh flavors in this berry salad recipe.

To make the dressing you’re going to use passion fruit puree which you can find in the freezer aisle of many grocery stores. You can also use fresh passion fruit if that’s readily available to you. To make the dressing all you need to do is whisk together all of the dressing ingredients: a little lime juice, honey, passion fruit puree and poppy seed together.

Next you’ll want to prep your fresh berries. In this version I used fresh strawberries and fresh raspberries because I wanted it to be an all-red fruit salad recipe. You could easily change up the fruit in this fruit salad and add all kinds of berries. If you wanted to use it to celebrate the fourth of july you could add fresh blueberries. If you really want to get rave reviews find good berries from the farmer’s market.

To prep the berries you just need to wash the raspberries and strawberries and dice the strawberries.

After you’ve prepped your berries, all you need to do is whisk in the dressing and serve it in a small bowl. The last thing to do is to add some herbs as garnish. I like to sprinkle in a little chopped basil or fresh mint.

Can I meal prep this strawberry raspberry fruit salad?

If you want to prep this in advance, I would make the dressing and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. I would wait to chop the berries until the last minute because once you add the dressing to the fresh berry salad it will start to release liquid so it will taste the freshest if you add the dressing just before serving.

Where can I serve this fruit salad?

I designed this recipe to be part of my valentine’s day brunch menu which it’s perfect for since it’s all-red! It would also be fun for a christmas brunch as well. It’s also a great addition for a backyard bbq. It’s also so simple and easy to put together that it can be a fun light dessert for any day of the week.
